Walk to the Well
Walk to the Well, a wonderful Rumi poem to inspire deeper reflection on life and work.
Last time, we looked at living life as a work of art and wondered how to move from being mechanical to creating a work of art. Rumi’s poem gives some insight:
Who is Rumi?
You can read about his life and his story here: Rumi Network and Wikipedia.
This poem is quoted from The Essential Rumi, Translations by Coleman Barks
Walk to the Well
Keep walking, though there’s no place to get to.
Don’t try to see through the distances.
That’s not for human beings – Move within,
but don’t move the way fear makes you move.Walk to the well.
Turn as the earth and the moon turn,
circling what they love.
Whatever circles, comes from the center.
Mindset Monday Challenge
How could you apply this advice to your current business or career?
This Mindset Monday post is presented by LowellAnn Fuglsang, Business and Career Coach, especially for solopreneurs.
In my workstyle-lifestyle coaching work I love helping solopreneurs find direction, stay motivated and build systems that both support and promote their business. One support that I like to emphasize for them is the Google experience. Two great places to begin are my Weekly Being Your Own CEO Success Circle and The Portable Business Coach (a tool that will tell you where you need to put more time and energy)
Hi, LowellAnn. My biggest take away is ‘not to move the way fear makes you move…’ Very cool! Thanks! Roland.
Yes, Roland that’s a point that we all need reminding about.
